If a charge was made from the accumulated value instead of another contract loaded on the card, the charge can be reimbursed at any of Egged’s Al HaKav stations, or by contacting Egged’s national public call center at *3112, extension 6.
The Rav-Kav Card can be loaded on the Rav-Kav Online website, the Hop-On website, at any of Egged’s Al HaKav stations, or through a phone with an NFC function. Loading the card with the bus driver is not an option. You can find more information about payment methods here.
In the event of loss, theft, or deliberate damage to a personal Rav-Kav card, you can cancel the old card and issue a new one by paying a re-issuance fee of 10₪ (if the card is faulty, no payment is required for re-issuance) via the Rav-Kav Online website or at any Al HaKav station, upon presenting Israeli ID / driver’s license / passport). The balance of the accumulated value will be transferred to the new card, along with any loaded Monthly Pass or Student Profile contract. However, balances of an anonymous or semi-anonymous Rav-Kav Card cannot be recovered in case of loss or theft.
A student profile is valid for the current year and can be extended upon presentation of a study permit for the following year. To extend the validity of the profile, you must provide an identification document (Israeli ID/driver’s license/passport), a printed school certificate, proof of payment of tuition fee, or a valid student card. If the Student profile is not extended, it will automatically convert to a Regular profile, and accumulated value purchased with a Student profile will not be available to use.
When a loaded profile expires, the option to use the contracts loaded on the card is automatically blocked. If you do not wish to renew the profile, you can visit any Al HaKav station with your ID card, driver’s license, or passport, to restore contracts, convert contracts for which the profile has ended, or receive reimbursement, according to the Ministry of Transportation’s instructions:
Monthly pass and annual or semester student contract: You can receive reimbursement for a contract that has been used up to 3 times, if the request is made before the profile expires.
Daily pass: You can receive reimbursement for a contract used only once, on a day the contract is valid.
Accumulated value: It is possible to receive reimbursement for accumulated value in exceptional cases only, subject to the presentation of the relevant documents.
Yes, you can purchase an anonymous or semi-anonymous Rav-Kav Card. An anonymous Rav-Kav Card contains no personal details and can be bought at any Al HaKav station for a one-time payment of 5₪. The card allows unlimited recharges, daily pass contract, and purchase of accumulated value only. Reimbursement for the remaining balance will only be provided in case of a defective card, not in case of loss or theft.
The semi-anonymous Rav-Kav card entitles you to legal discounts when traveling on public transport (upon loading). It displays the cardholder’s photo and full name and can be issued free of charge at any Al HaKav station. Passenger information is not stored, but past trip data is saved along with the card number. Reimbursement for the remaining balance will only be given in the case of a defective card, not in the case of loss or theft.
Children and youth aged 5 to 18, youth over 18 studying in 12th grade, and students in special education institutions under the Special Education Law until age 21, are entitled to a Youth profile on the Rav-Kav card. If you turn 18 before graduation, you can visit any Al HaKav stations with a valid study permit, your Rav-Kav Card, and an identification document (Israeli ID/driver’s license/passport), and the Youth profile will be extended until the end of the school year.
Each Rav-Kav Card can be loaded with up to 2 profiles.
The Rav-Kav Card can be loaded with up to 8 contracts.
Yes, the Rav-Kav card automatically expires after 8 years from the date of issue.
Children above 16 holding an ID card can independently visit one of the Rav-Kav stations with an identification document (Israeli ID, driver’s license, or passport) to obtain a Rav-Kav Card. Children under 16 without an ID card can issue or renew a Rav-Kav Card only when accompanied by a parent with an ID card and a slip.
Yes. A passenger with a Regular or Youth profile will be able to make multiple uses of accumulated value, provided both passengers have the same profile.
A daily or monthly pass that hasn’t been used can be exchanged for another code.
You can only obtain a refund in exceptional cases, subject to presenting the relevant certificates. If you meet the criteria for contract cancellation, as detailed in the FAQ, you can visit any Al HaKav stations and receive a refund to your credit card or reload the Rav-Kav Card. Otherwise, contracts on the Rav-Kav Card will either be restored or converted to the current profile.
You can use a Rav-Kav Card issued by another transport operator for your trips in Egged and vice versa.
Accumulated value allows you to load cash on the card and convert it into accumulated value units. You can load 10₪, 30₪, 50₪, 100₪, 150₪, 200₪, or any combination of these amounts. The discount is given to the passenger at the time of loading and according to the profile loaded on the Rav-Kav Card. For example, a passenger with a Senior profile that grants a 50% discount who recharges 50₪, will receive 100 units of accumulated value on the card and when used, the full price of the price code will be deducted. Discounts of all types in an accumulated value contract will be given when the contract is loaded.
Yes. All personal data entered into a personal or semi-anonymous Rav-Kav Card, excluding the personal photo, is stored in the Ministry of Transportation systems.
